My mothers family were all  killed by the Nazis. Her family included many Rabbis and Cantors who  managed to hide  prayer books and other items including this Torah which was found in the basement of  a library which  became  Nazi Headquarters. It was returned to  my Mom and Dad who had  migrated from Colombia South America  where they had  escaped to, and subsequently to   America after I was being harrassed by other students    for being the only Jew in the only school in town, run by Priests - The torah  arrived in the States days before their death.At least they  got to see it. I donated it, and It now  sits at the entrance to Congregation Agudath Sholom, In Stamford, Ct.  FW
